Week 31 of the North Caledonian Season seen us play mid-week in a rescheduled game against Halkirk United FC played under the floodlights at Dalmore Park Astro in Alness.

It was always going to be a tough game against a good Halkirk United side who have been challenging for the league up until the last few results, so we knew we would need to be at our best to get anything out of the game.

The game started with Halkirk having the majority of possession. Bonar Defence and Midfield working hard to keep Halkirk at bay and stop any attacks. Important saves made by Brandon Smith between the sticks for Bonar kept the game level. Halkirk managed to find the break through on the 17th minute after the Bonar defense were caught out by a neat passage of play down the left hand side before the deep cross found Stuart Campell who finished well into the bottom corner. 0-1.

Chances came and went for Bonar to get back into the game, and several Halkirk corners were defended well before Aaron McNicol found himself with a free header at the back post on the 36th minute to give the away side a good lead heading towards half time.

The second half started and the Bonar squad were working tirelessly to get back into the game. Several chances came for Halkirk in the half with some important saves made to keep the scoreline down and a chance for Bonar to potentially find a way back. A good chance for Bonar came mid in the second half where an awkward ball was played forward for Connell Gresham to chase onto but Halkirk keeper Kieran Campbell was quick off his line to claim it. The second half finished with no goals for either side, and Halkirk kept the ball well to stop any chance of Bonar getting back into the game.

Final score was 0-2 to Halkirk. Thanks to Halkirk for travelling down Mid-Week for the game, and all the best for the remainder of the season.

Man of the Match for Bonar was Goalkeeper Brandon Smith who made a numbers of saves throughout to keep the home side in the game.
