Week 6 of the Macleod & Maccallum North Caledonian League seen us feature in home action against Bunillidh Thistle FC after there return to the league following a few years absence.
The home side were slow to get into the game with Bunillidh having the better of the opening chances. Both teams struggled to take a hold of the game in the opening 20 minutes in the first meeting between the teams in a number of years.
Bonar’s attack were starting to look more dangerous after a number of corners were conceded by the away side. On the 28th minute an inviting corner in from Jordan Hailes found Shadi Ali before Jack Corbett got his first goal of the season helping it in to give the home side the advantage. The First half finished with chances from both sides. Bunillidh’s Alfie Mackay hitting the cross bar from a free kick coming close, but Bonar held out to go into the break ahead.
The Second half started and it was Bonar who put early pressure on the Bunillidh Defense. A long through on the 48th minute from Robbie Breen before being headed on found Jack Corbett coming into the box before he volleyed home for his second of the game.
Bonar continued there pressure, and were rewarded on the 56th minute after a deep corner from Robbie Breen was headed back across goal for Jordan Shaw to finish for his first goal after returning to the club.
The final half an hour of the game had chances for Bonar to increase there lead with a number of counter attacks, but Stuart Maclennan in the Bunillidh goal made a few saves to keep the scoreline the same. Bunillidh also had some chances to get back into the game, but Bonar’s defense was solid in stopping any chance of a comeback from the away team.
