This weekend’s game at Home vs St Duthus was our first in over a month.

We didnt play well in the 1st half, and maybe the lack of games contributed to that, but it shouldn’t have as we’ve had really good training sessions in those 4 weeks.

From the start St Duthus controlled possession but our defensive structure was coping with whatever came our way. The breakthrough came around the 24th min, from a clever St Duthus corner, but it was a combination of poor marking just outside the box and a miss kick from us on the line that lead to us going 1-0 down. The score line remained the same until half time.

We made two substitutions at half-time bringing on Jordan Hailes and Billy Cairns, and both did very well.

Unfortunately, our half got off to the worst possible start as St Duthus made it 2-0 in the 50th min. A hopeful cross from deep, combined with the erratic wind, culminated in another goal gifted by Bonar.

For the next 15 – 20 minutes, Bonar linked up well with Dave MacGruer, Jordan Hailes, Dylan MacCulloch, and Billy Cairns getting a hold of the ball and looked a lot more threatening.

The next Goal was going to be crucial. Bonar got a freekick just outside the box, and Dylan MacCulloch was very unlucky to see his shot crash against the post.

A couple half chances for either side followed but it was St Duthus who would put the game to bed in the 78th min.

Well done to St Duthus for your deserved Win.

For our Bonar Bridge lads, there are positives to take from that 2nd half performance as we look to continue building on the performances from earlier in the season.

Our Man of the Match for the game was David MacGruer who played well in a more defensive role.
